418,715. Cans etc.; funnels. SEESENER BLECHWARENFABRIK AKT.-GES., 520, Jobstrasse, Seesen-am-Harz, Germany. Jan. 31, 1934, Nos. 3205 and 3206. Convention dates, Dec. 14, 1933 and Jan. 2, 1934. [Classes 66 and 125 (ii).] A can &c. 2 having a seamed-on end closure adapted to be ruptured to afford access to the oil or other liquid contents has a cover 6 formed as a discharge spout or funnel of conical form removably attached to the end so as to cover the closure, and adapted to facilitate transference of the contents, for instance into the oil tank of a motor vehicle, after the closure has been ruptured. The attachment may be by push-on friction fit, bayonet joint, screw, interrupted threads, or other means. In the construction shown in Fig. 2 a metal band 13 is disposed within the rim of the cover, the free end when pulled tight being engaged, by means of one of the holes 11, over the rivet 9 serving to secure the other end to the cover. In this form a packing ring is disposed between the upper edge of the can and the cover. In Fig. 5 the cover is attached to the threaded edge of an outwardly pressed part of the can end.
