[Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Croups XXI, XXII, and XXIX] In an extinguisher comprising a container for a fluid under pressure and a discharge outlet closed by a frangible seal soldered over the outlet, the seal 3, of thin lead, tin or copper, is wrapped at its margin over the edge 5 of a, thicker metal ring 4. The edge 5 and the ring 4 are secured over the neck 2 of the container 1 by solder 2a.. The seal is arranged at the lower end of the extinguisher, and is supported by a valve or abutment 6 and a fusible strut. When the latter fuses and releases the valve, the seal is burst by the internal pressure of the extinguisher. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a hand-release valve, at the upper end of the extinguisher, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), comprising a sleeve 12 in which is soldered a shouldered metal plug 14. The plug can be forced out of the steeve by a stem IS on a screw 16 provided with a hand wheel 15. The screw is provided with a valve surface 17 which can co-operate with packing 19 to close the sleeve 12 after the plug 14 has been forced therefrom. This subject - matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
