Abstract
513,245. Sleeve couplings. JASPER, C. H. Sept. 8, 1938, No. 26263. [Class 38 (i)] A split sleeve 1 with a tapered internal thread 2 for screwing on to the twisted ends of wires 9 to be connected together, is reinforced by a resilient member such as a rubber ring or a coiled spring 8 applied around its smaller end. The spring 8 maybe retained in position by screwthreads cut in the sleeve and another screw thread 4 on an enlarged part of the sleeve serves for the attachment of an insulating cap 3. Flats 11 on the sleeve allow the use of a tool for screwing it on to the wires.
