Abstract
610,463. Two-part couplings. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., and MORGAN, R. W. April 6, 1946, No. 10656. [Class 38 (i)] A fused electric plug has spring clips to hold one end of a cartridge fuse against the head of a contact pin and the other against the body of a terminal. The head of a pin a has an annular groove which engages the bifurcated ends of an L-shaped clip C. These ends are pressed together after assembly to lock the clip in position. A fuse f is held between the clip and a flat on the head of the pin. In a further embodiment, Fig. 7, a clip h<1> is clamped in position by a shaped nut 1<1> screwed on to a threaded extension of the pin. In a still further embodiment (not shown) the shaped nut of Fig. 7 is replaced by a tall hexagonal nut, in the top of which is screwed a length of threaded rod. The fuse is clipped between this rod and a clip similar to the previous embodiments. In a further embodiment, not shown, the terminal part is furnished with a conventional U- shaped clip. In all cases, the pins are non- rotatably mounted in the plug body, and, like the terminal posts are held in position by the cover. Specification 599,964 is referred to.
