[Class 36] A device for sealing the end of a cable n comprises a rubber or other resilient insulating cap r mounted in a ceramic or other insulating holder x having an aperture in its end to expose the top of the cap which is formed with weakened portions t adapted to be pierced by the bare conductors u of the cable when the cap is pushed over the cable end. In order to secure the device to the cable, the rear end p of the cap may be bevelled or rounded and engaged by a conical washer v which is forced against the end of the cap by a sleeve w which screws into the rear end of the holder and causes the rear end of the cap to grip the cable.
