Abstract

1,140,210. Tool for extracting electrical contact pins. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 27 Jan., 1967 [2 Feb., 1966], No. 4169/67. Addition to 1,058,900. Heading B4C. [Also in Division H2] A tool 50 for removing an electrical contact pin 24 from a bore 38 in an insulator body 32 comprises a tubular member made from a resilient material and having a forward portion 50e and a flared portion 50c adapted to prevent inadvertent movement of the tool into the bore. The tool is formed with a slit 52 so that it grips the contactpin 24 as shown; the slit opens up to a wider portion 52a so that the flared portion can be pressed inwardly. In use, in order to remove a contact, a flange 50d on the flared portion is gripped so that the tool can be moved into the bore and cause the portion 50e to open spring fingers 44a of a contact retaining clip 44.
