Abstract

In a plug for a coaxial cable 9, the centre conductor 8 is clamped between the rear end of the centre pin 5, held in insulating ring 4, and a recess in the flat face of an insulating member 6, having a rear, conical face against which the outer braiding conductor 11 is splayed, by the rim of a deformable clamp 10, into contact with the outer conducting sleeve contact 3. Clamping force is exerted on the deformable clamp and flattened end (8a) of the centre conductor by a screw 13, co-operating with insulating body 1. The deformable clamp may be a cup-like member having resilient fingers formed by splitting the sides, or a split tube of springy metal.
