Abstract

1,120,296. Two-part couplings. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. 13 Jan., 1967 [26 April, 1966], No. 18217/66. Heading H2E. In a connector with an inner contact pin 3 and an outer contact socket 1, a hollow insulating body 5 is secured to the rear end 4 of the socket 1 by a split metal sleeve 6 which surrounds the socket, the sleeve having apertures 8 and inwardly-projecting tongues 7 which respectively engage projections 9 on the body 5 and slots in the socket 1. An insulating washer 2 carries the pin 3, which is hollow, and the socket, ,whose forward end 1 is slotted to define fingers (1a, Fig. 4, not shown). The body 5 has a ridged outer surface which acts as a finger grip, and its rear end 5a receives a coaxial cable whose conductors are respectively soldered to the pin 3 and to the rear end 4 of the socket.
