Abstract

243,493. Williams, M. L. Oct. 15, 1924. Addition to 160,375. Wire terminals.-A terminal a for electric leads as described in the parent Specification is employed in conjunction with a sleeve b of fibre, metal, &c. surrounding the end of the insulation c covering the lead, so that as the screwed portion a<1> of the terminal is inserted in the end of the lead the insulation is expanded and grips the sleeve. A cap b<1> may be fitted to the end of the sleeve. A tube of rubber may be employed within the sleeve either surrounding or abutting against the end of the insulation c. In this case the cap b<1> may be modified to fit inside instead of outside the sleeve. The Provisional Specification describes the form of endpiece shown in the drawing, and states that the ring employed may have a wedge-shaped part to enter between and separate the limbs, which need not then have divergent ends.
