Abstract

171,829. Sphinx Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Clark, W. A. Sept. 17, 1920. Binding-posts and terminals; cable and wire terminals. - A sparking- plug is provided with a protecting hood or cap of insulating material composing a union member whereby the hightension lead is adapted to be brought into electrical connection with the terminal. The cap has two bores, one 4 to cover the top of the plug and the other 5 to pass over the terminal of the plug. The side projection 7 is tapped to take a screwed metal flanged tube 8, into which the bared end of the high tension lead passes. The extremity of the lead is turned back over the end of the tube 8, and may be secured by a longitudinal pin. An insulating sleeve 9 is secured on the flange 10 and overlaps the projection 7 and the insulation of the lead. Connection between lead and terminal is effected by screwing in the tube 8 and the lead does not turn in the process.
