Abstract
193,508. Bottom, W. E., Goldfarb, M. H., and Barrington, W. M. Nov. 25, 1921. Two-part couplings; fusible cut-outs. - Self - contained fuse elements g<1> a.re enclosed in a casing formed in two parts a, b, so that the attachment of the two parts to each, other serves to complete electrical connections through the fuses between flexible leads entering at each end of the casing. Each fuse wire is disposed in an insulating sheath g and is clamped at each end by a metallic cap h, and each sheath is inserted in a cavity f in a cylinder e of insulating material. Each cap h bears against a conducting socket j fitted with a spring - pressed conducting plunger i, and these plungers, when the parts are assembled, bear against contact plates k on studs m mounted in insulating material l secured to the corresponding part a, b of the casing. The ends of the leads c are secured by binding screws in sockets n in the studs m. The parts a, b of the casing may be secured together by a ring o formed with a flange bearing on a flange p on the part a and with an internal screw-thread engaging a screwthreaded shoulder q on the part b.
