Abstract
294,765. Buldin, A. F. July 18, 1927 Addition to 273,490. July 18, 1927. Two-part couplings.-In a socket for use with a jack plug according to the parent Specification the lateral contact strip is forked or bifurcated to engage the plug at opposite sides. It may consist of a resilient wire h bent to form two contact arms and a central eye g through which passes a terminal screw i that secures the contact h to the panel a. The contact sleeve b is connected to the other terminal f by a lug e that may be integral with the sleeve. A collar n carried by the terminal screw f forms a stop for the arms h and may be of metal or insulating material according to whether the jack is employed for series or parallel connections. Additional contacts with which the arms h engage when expanded may be provided if required. The panel a is formed with an integral flange j constituting a hollow-backed rose, the leads entering the space at the back and passing through holes l to the terminals. The sleeve b is formed with an external waist having flats for the application of a spanner.
