[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVII] In a two-stroke engine the supply of air or mixture is controlled by a hydraulic relay connected between a governor and a device for regulating, the admission of air or mixture. As shown, an engine-driven pump 8 supplies air to inlet ports. The air supply is regulated by a valve controlled front a governor 11 through a hydraulic relay in which compressed fluid circulates through ports in a piston 16 connected through a lever 13 and a cam or lever to the valve, the governor acting on a rod 20 to throttle the ports. The relay may also simultaneously control the quantity of fuel delivered by, and the timing of a fuel pump.
