Abstract

493,746. Two-part couplings combined with switches. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 11, 1938, No. 7643. Convention date, March 12, 1937. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for a tubular lamp comprises an insulating base 8 having a supply terminal 9 embedded therein and a spring finger 17 that is displaced into engagement with the terminal 9 by the insertion of the lamp 1. The lamp is introduced downwardly through a slot 7, after opening a hinged cover 19, so that the finger 17 is not moved until the lamp is fully engaged. A separate spring detent 13 enters the usual recess 14 in the cap 2 to retain the lamp in the holder.
