Abstract

402,558. Electric - lamp holders. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and QUANCE, F. G., Magnet House, Kingsway, London. Aug. 26, 1932, No. 23934. [Class 39 (ii).] An electric-lamp holder of the screw-threaded type for use in a series lighting system is provided with a centre contact 3 in the form of a long resilient strip which is depressed away from an inturned lip 5 on the shell 1 when a lamp is inserted, the withdrawal of the lamp allowing the strip to make contact with the lip and shortcircuiting the holder. A resistance equivalent to that of the lamp may be interposed between the lamp holder terminals.
