[Class 39 (ii).] In an electric-lamp holder of the kind comprising a body portion made of insulating material including an inclined socket for a lamp cap, a pair of metal rods 6, Figs. 1 and 2, located within a recess at the back of the insulating body 1 and serving as supply conductors are each held in position by a screw 8 which forms a supply conductor to one of the contacts in the socket 2. In the example the socket is of the screw-threaded type with a metal liner 3 connected to a pin 4 which is let into a recess in the base of the socket and receives the screw 8 passing through one rod 6, a similar pin being connected to the centre contact of the socket and secured by a screw to the other rod 6. A closing-block 9, Fig. 3, with a central ridge 10 fits between the adjacent surfaces of the parallel conductors 6. The ends of the rods 6 are recessed and the adjacent parts of the insulating body provided with holes 11 to receive supply conductors which are received in position by lateral screws 7. The socket and contacts may be modified to receive a lamp of the bayonet-joint type.
