Abstract
700,464. Lamp holders. LINOLITE, Ltd., and BRITISH ELECTRIC LAMPS, Ltd. Feb. 15, 1952 [Nov. 16, 1950], No. 28061/50. Class 38 (1). A holder for a double-capped lamp L Fig. 1 (not shown) having a laterally-extending contact peg 14 at each end, has a pair of contact-members 12 each comprising a pair of superimposed, apertured flexible plates 18, 20, formed with pairs of lugs 28, 30, respectively. The lugs 28 make contact with a peg 14 with their outer edges, whilst the lugs 30 make contact with their faces. The plates 18, 20, may be held bowed in a U-spring 16 having a terminal 34, and the pegs 14 may have grooves 32 into which the lugs 28 snap. The construction provides a secure resilient mounting for the lamp whilst ensuring good electrical contact. To facilitate removal of the lamp the lugs 28 may alternatively lie in the plane of the plate 18, Fig. 5, (not shown). The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 492,068.
