Abstract
599,645. Lamp-holders. TUCKER, J. B. Sept. 22, 1945, No. 24589. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for tubular electric lamps is moulded from insulating material and has an arched socketed section a in which are formed two vertical aligned slots a<2>, a<3> (Fig. 1), in a pair of bosses a', a<5> (Fig. 2), integral with the arched section, while an unslotted buffer block a<6> provides a stop to the vertical movement of the lamp pins c when they are inserted into the slots. The lower slotted boss a<5> is located diametrically across a circular aperture a<7> in which the lamp pins may be rotated after insertion ; stop-bars a<@8> integral with the boss restrict this rotation to less than 90 degrees in either direction. Resilient contact blades b, of the form shown, provided with terminals b<2> are secured by them to the lower part of the section a, are located in recesses in the holder, the jaws being disposed symmetrically about the stop-bars a<8> and formed at their free ends to receive and support the lamp pins in diametrically opposed recesses b<3>, whichever the direction in which the lamp may be rotated on insertion. The open face of the holder is enclosed by an insulating cover-plate secured by screws engaging lugs a<9>.
