Class 39(2) In an electric battery lamp comprising a casing accommodating a battery, at least one electric lamp bulb, a switch to control the lamp circuit and a carrying handle provided on the casing, the casing is in the form of a unitary structure produced by moulding the component parts from synthetic plastic material and cementing or otherwise bonding them together. The parts may each consist of half the casing and half the carrying handle which in this case is in the form of a loop joined to the casing at both ends. In the Figure shown, the casing 1 is in the form of a box with a closed end 1A and a lid 3 held in place by spring catches 4A and accommodates four battery cells 9 arranged in pairs side by side, the cells at one end contacting a strip 10 and at the other the output terminals 7 from which flexible conductors extend to the lamps and switches. Two lamps are provided, a main lamp mounted in a reflector 16 closed at the front by a glass plate 22 and supported by a band 19 encircling the neck of the reflector and having its ends formed as a fork for mounting on a pivot pin 20 and an auxiliary lamp carried in a casing 26 at the end of an arm 27 also mounted on the pin 20. The auxiliary lamp is controlled by a separate switch on the casing 26. The arm in its normal position fits into a groove in the handle 2 and can be swung through 180 degrees about the pin 20. An aperture 27A is provided in the arm 27 for access to the switch 30 for the main lamp when the arm is in its normal position. Specification 827,693 is referred to.
