A non-locking retractible key switch combined with a lamp indicator comprises a housing with a spring-biased cover 19 hinged at 20 and carrying a plunger 21 which extends into the housing to engage contact springs 6, and which has two or more coloured windows 22, 23 registering respectively with lamps set in two or more lamp holders arranged in the housing. The contact springs 6 arranged in two groups of three at opposite sides of the rectangular housing are mounted in a member 5 projecting from a bridge 3 extending between two limbs 2, 2 rising from a base 1. The rectangular casing 17 is held by spring-clips 16, 16 mounted on the limbs 2. Mounted in the base 1 are contactpins 11 which are connected by conductors (not shown) to the spring contacts, and which support the springs of two lamp-holders (not shown) in which lamps may be mounted to extend through holes 9, 10 in the bridge 3. The lamps are separated by member 8. The casing is made more dust-proof by the extension of flange 18 into a recess in the cover 19 or by the provision of a skirt (not shown) to the cover 19 which extends into the casing. The pins 11, 12 extend through the base 1 and enter sockets in member. 14. The casing parts may be moulded in a transparent thermoplastic material.
