Abstract

708,209. Indicators for switches. PETERSON, T. F. March 12, 1952, No. 6366/52. Class 38(5) [Also in Group XXXVI] A neon indicator lamp 24 is mounted on a wall switch by means of a grommet 22 of resin-conducting resilient material inserted in an aperture 21 in the switch cover-plate 17, the lamp base 25 fitting into the grommet. The lamp control 26 engages a switch terminal 15, and a spring contact 28 connected to the switch terminal 16 makes contact with a resin-conducting lead 27 extending from the grommet and painted on the cover-plate. The lamp lights when the switch is open, no internal resistances being required as these are provided by the materials used for the leads and grommet. In a modification, Fig. 3, an insulating plate is provided under the cover plate, which has resilient bosses 35 coated with resin-conducting material to make contact with the switch terminals, resin-conducting leads being provided to complete the circuit.
