Abstract

1290421 Snap acting switches; indicators in switches S OHASHI 14 Aug 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 39231/70 Heading H1N An illuminated rocker switch has a detachable finger-plate 30. The switch comprises a housing 10 with terminals 12, 13 in the bottom; each terminal 12 is raised above terminals 13 inside the housing and supports a rockable contactplate 36. An actuating member 34 with an open centre is pivoted to the housing and operates the contacts 36 by sliders 37 and overcentre springs 38. Mounted between the two rows of terminals 12, 13 are one or two lamp holders (Fig. 3, not shown) connected to terminals 17. The lamps 16 project through the member 34 and illuminate the finger-plate 30 which is translucent and coloured; different coloured plates 30 can be substituted. In a modification (Figs. 7, 8, not shown) the actuating member 34 has a partition (41) between the two lamps so that each illuminates only one half of the plate 30.
