Abstract
492,529. Discharge apparatus. ELEMET LABORATORIES CO., Inc. March 19, 1937, No. 8086. Convention date, May 8, 1936. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXII] High vacua in thermionic valves &c. are obtained by introducing therein a wire having a shell of nickel &c., and a core of volatile and reactive material such as barium; the wire is heated directly by passage of a current, or inductively, or by contact of the wire with a heated resistance wire, e.g. of molybdenum or tungsten., one of the two wires having an insulating coat.
