467,432. Thermionic cathodes. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., RULE, W., FENWICK, C. E., and SCOTT, W. J. Dec. 16, 1935, No. 34893. [Class 39 (i)] In pellet-form cathodes for use in lamps, the pellet has a central aperture 2, and, it may be, a number of parallel apertures 3, passing through it to facilitate degassing. The tungsten or like wire heater surrounding the pellet is formed as a spiral at the upper face, the wire passing through the central aperture either as a single strand or as a helix of the same diameter as the aperture.
