502,367. Discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. (Patent-Treuhand-Ges. f³r Elektrische Gl³hlampen) Sept. 27, 1937, No. 26135. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] A lamp comprising a sodium discharge lamp in series with an incandescent filament is so arranged that the voltage across the filament is greater than, preferably from two to five times as great as the voltage across the discharge ; the current density in the discharge should not be greater than 0À3 amperes per square centimeter. The filament may be in parallel with a starting electrode and a resistance of the type which increases rapidly with rise of temperature.
