[Class 39 (i)] An electrode comprises a tungsten helix which is heated by a current independent of the discharge and contains a pellet of electronomitting material, the length of which is shorter than that of the helix. The helix may be straight or have a curved or zigzag form and the pollet may consist of semi-conducting material. Specification 405,605 is referred to.
