Abstract
482,807. Discharge lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Nov. 1, 1937, No. 29855. Convention date, Nov. 7, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] In electrodes for discharge lamps of the type comprising thermionically active material supported on a base member, the latter consists of a disc a of tungsten or nickel to which a spirally wound strip c preferably-of the same metal, is welded by its edge. The disc a may be flat as shown, or conical with the convex or concave face towards the discharge, and the thermionic material is packed between the convolutions of the spiral to a depth preferably leaving the upper edges of the strip proud. Spec'ification 450,971 is referred to.
