453,620. Wireless receiving sets. HIGH VACUUM VALVE CO., Ltd., 113, Farringdon Road, London, and SAYERS, D. W., 26, Hane, Beckingham, Kent. June 19, 1935, No. 17609. [Class 40 (v)] A portable wireless receiver comprises a loudspeaker 8 and frame aerials 9 and 10, one for each waveband, mounted in channels in the receiver casing, the receiving apparatus being arranged as a unitary chassis 12 beneath the top of the case with the valves in an inverted position while the high tension battery 24 is provided with three contact springs 25 co-operating with contact studs 25<1>, 261, 271 when in position in the casing ; the accumulator may have similar contacts. The frame aerial and tuning inductances are tuned by the condensers 13, 14 which are operated by concentrically arranged control spindles between the knobs of which there is arranged a lost-motion device comprising a slot in one knob and a co-operating pin on the other knob whereby each may be slightly adjusted separately.
