Abstract

356,726. Inductances. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and KINMAN, T. H., Ladbroke, Bilton, Rugby. June 2, 1930, No. 17019. [Class 37.] In a wireless receiver having a plurality of independent energy input devices, each comprising a circuit resonant to a different frequency, a single voltage control device is provided and adapted to associate each of the devices successively with the input of a valve detector or amplifier. The Figure shows tuned circuits 1, 2, 3 and a potentiometer 7 adapted to be successively associated with the input of a valve 10. Volume is adjusted by movement of the aerial coupling coil 4 and reaction coil 5 and by potentiometer 7. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a number of fixed aerial and reaction coils are provided and volume is controlled by a potentiometer in the input to the valve.
