Abstract

480,970. Wireless receiving-apparatus. BIDDINGTON, T. A., and PEARL, R. Sept. 29, 1936, No. 26381. [Class 40 (v)] A short-wave adapter for a radio-receiver is constructed as a unit comprising a signal tuning and amplifying stage and an amplifier, the aerial 2, grid 6 and reaction coils 7 being mounted in a holder for or base of the amplifier 8 which is mounted on a springy metal strip 30 secured to the frame of the adapter tuning condenser 1. The various components are housed below amplifier 8 between two insulating plates 21, 22 separated by spacers 23, the coil assembly 2 being mounted on extensions 26 of the spacers. The unit derives its H.T. and L.T. supply through conductors 14, 18 connected to a contact plate 15 which plugs into a valve-holder in the receiver and itself receives the corresponding valve. Flexible leads 3, 12, 19 and clips 5, 13 connect the adapter to the aerial, the receiver input terminal and receiver chassis respectively. Specification 467,284 is referred to.
