Abstract

412,152. Wireless receiving - - apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.- (Assignees of Becker, S. ; 196, Division Street, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) Feb. 26, 1934, No. 6199. Convention date, March 1, 1933. [Class 40 (v).] A wireless receiver comprises a circuit 5, 6 adapted to be tuned over different frequency ranges by connecting a condenser 7 across sections of the inductance 5, as by a switch 23. Preferably the L /C ratio is high for the circuit 5, 6 but low for the circuit constituted by the condenser 7 and the section of the inductance 5. The valve 2 acts as an aperiodic amplifier. The anode circuit of valve 9 includes a reaction coil 12, coupled to inductance 5. The high potential side of the reaction coil 12 can be earthed through any one of condensers 17 ... 20, as by a switch 22, so as to vary the reaction. Preferably the switches 22, 23 are gauged.
