Abstract

248,876. Tyler, H. Jan. 5, 1925. Thermionic amplifiers and detectors. -In a wireless receiver the grid is connected to one side of the aerial condenser 2 through a reaction coil 8, and to the other side of the condenser through a non-inductive connection 4. In this way high amplification is combined with flat as opposed to critical control of the reaction. The grid connection may include a condenser 5 and leak 6, and the condenser 2 and variometer 3 may be connected in series either with a standard aerial 1, as shown, or with a frame aerial shunted by a condenser.
