Abstract

284,002. Prince, C. E., and Percival, W., S. Oct. 19, 1926. Thermionic amplifiers and detectors. - In a two-valve receiver having a fixed condenser a in the grid lead of the detector valve and no special leakage path for the charge on the grid to leak away, together with an anode resistance b of the order of megohms, reaction from the second valve is provided. As shown in the Figure, a coil e is coupled to the input circuit g, h. In a modification, a choke is provided in the anode circuit of the second valve and a reaction condenser connected between the anode of this valve and the grid end of the circuit g, h. The second low-frequency amplifying valve in addition preferably has no special leakage path for the grid charge to leak away.
