Abstract
248,076. Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd., and Gill, E. W. B. Nov. 27,. 1924. Thermionic amplifiers and detectors.-A fourelectrode thermionic valve A, which may be a detector or a high or low frequency amplifier, is arranged so that the inner grid 2 is charged through a choke 1 and serves as the output electrode. The output, as shown, is applied through a condenser 3 to the grid of a, valve B provided with a leak resistance 4. The relation between the inner grid current and the outer grid potential are analysed in the Specification and the conditions set out to obtain a magnification substantially independent of the potential applied to the inner grid. A number of four-electrode valves may be employed in cascade.
