Abstract

550,067. Wireless transmitting apparatus; thermionic valves. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and GREEN, E. May 28, 1940, No. 9372. [Classes 39 (i), 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] A pair of valves with external anodes are arranged to form a structure resonant at the high operating frequency. As shown, the external anodes A1, A2 of a push-pull pair of valves are joined at their ends by a bridge X, which may be adjustable, to form a V- shaped resonator. Neutralizing condensers are formed by adjustable straps N1, N2 surrounding the anodes and connected to the opposite grid leads G1, G2. Cooling fluid is supplied through pipes T1, T2 passing through the base. When the valves are of the screengrid or pentode type, the fixed voltage grids may be associated by capacity plates with an earthed screen. Anode voltage may be supplied through the pipes T1, T2.
