557,148. Valve generating circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Aug. 7, 1942, No. 11055. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1941. [Class 40 (v)] An oscillator comprises a valve I having the screen S at a higher potential than the anode A so as to have a negative transconductance, the anode being connected to the cathode by a parallel resonant circuit L<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>1</SP> tuned to the desired frequency, and to the control grid by a series resonant circuit L2, C<SP>2</SP> tuned to the same frequency. At resonance the tuned circuits are equivalent to the pure resistances RA, RB and the oscillator works at high efficiency without phase shift. The series resonant circuit may be replaced by a piezo-electric crystal.
