Abstract
352,791. Wireless receiving apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Aug. 29, 1930, No. 25849. Convention date, Sept. 18, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] Relates to means for simplifying the tuning of a receiver where the aerial inp u t comprises a small series condenser 6 for selective purposes, and also a tuned rejector circuit 9, 10. A switch 13 is arranged so that in the open position the aerial current flows as usual through the rejector circuit 9, 10, through the small series condenser 6, and then through the tuned input 7, 8 to the point 12, which is earthed. In the closed position, however, the two tuned circuits 9, 10 and 7, 8 are coupled through a small condenser 5 in order to increase the selectivity. If the condenser 6 is then assumed to be connected in parallel with the condenser 8, the adjustment of the latter practically determines the tuning of the input as a whole. The arrangement is advantageous if the circuit 7, 8 is followed by other stages with ganged tuning control. A frame aerial may be connected in series with the condenser 5 across the input 7, 8.
