[Class 99 (i)] [See also Group XXIX] A pipe coupling comprises a sleeve 3 having one or more deep V-shaped internal grooves in which a rubber ring 5 is compressed by the insertion within it of the pipe 2, a space 6 remaining at the apex of the groove between the ring and the wall of the sleeve. One end of the sleeve is secured at 3<a> to the pipe 1, and the other end is connected to the pipe 2 by a clip 8 which is pivoted in lugs 13 on the sleeve. In a modification, the sleeve has two double conical portions 19, 22 each containing a rubber ring 23 having a sector-shaped recess open to the pipes. Lugs 31 on clips 29 are engaged by the hooked ends of links 35 pivoted at 34 to the sleeve. The coupling may be fitted with a rotary sprayer comprising a nozzle arm 62, Fig. 12, bent at 67 and rotatably mounted on the pipe 61. A jet 63 at the bend rotates a wheel 64 which drives the nozzle through gearing 65, 66.
