Abstract

543,850. Hose pipes. ANGUS & CO., Ltd., G., and CANNEY, D. E. F. Feb. 10, 1941, No. 1790. [Class 99 (ii)] In a hose pipe which is lined with rubber or other material and in which couplings are inserted in the ends thereof, damage by the couplings to the lining is prevented by thickening the lining at its ends or by the insertion of a protecting sleeve in each end of the lining. In the Figure, the coupling 12 is shown inserted in the thickened end 13 of a lining 11. In a modified form, the thickening is replaced by a sleeve which is secured to the lining with adhesive. Specifications 538,455, 547,820 and 547,821, [Group III], are referred to.
