[Class 44] A fastening for securing a removable motor - car floor. board E, or for like uses, comprises a re silient slotted member adapted to engage a headed stud or like member on a fixed board D and slide into position overlap ping the board E As described, the resilient member is transversely arched and has a slot A with an enlarged end C and downwardly bent or countersunk edges B, inclined or of decreasing depth towards the narrow end of the slot. A wood-screw F serves as the fixed stud. In use, the resilient member is depressed so that the head of the screw F passes through the enlargement C and the device is then slid so that the edges B engage under the screw head and the device bears on the parts D, E, with increasing pressure as the screw moves towards the narrow end of the slot. The screw is preferably placed, as shown, in a groove so as not to project above the surface of part D.
