967,694. Securing railway rails. RESSORTS DU NORD S.A. July 11, 1962 [July 13, 1961], No. 26732/62. Heading E1G. In rail securing means, a spring strip A has pads 10 and 11 of material such as rubber secured to its underside at zones a, b at which the strip bears on the flange of a rail R when clamping means, such as a coach screw B, is tightened. The material may be sprayed on to the strip or secured by adhesive on bond or by rivetting. The strip may taper towards the end adjacent the pad 10. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 4, a sheet 18 of rubber material is thickened and may also be grooved on its underface at zones 10 and 11, and is secured to the strip by forcing studs 19 integral with the sheet through apertures in the strip.
