1,154,497. Rail fastenings. D. SCHMITTHELM [trading as ERNST SCHMITTHELM FEDERN - UND METALL - WARENFABRIK. 16 March, 1967. [18 March, 1966], No. 12387/67. Heading E1G. A rail flange 9 seated in a chair 1 is clamped on each side by an S-shaped torsion bar having a straight central portion 6 located in a recessed rib 2 on the chair. The oppositely-curving ends 15, 14 of the torsion bar may be symmetrical or asymmetrical and engage respectively the flange 9 and the remote part 11 of the chair. The chair is secured by a screwed spike 13 and carries a disc or shim 10.
