Abstract

1,107,076. Rail securing means. LOCKSPIKE Ltd. 31 Oct., 1966 [17 Dec., 1965], No. 54626/66. Divided out of 1,107,074. Heading E1G. An insulator, for use between the base of a flange-footed rail and a securing means in which the fastening member from an anchoring member bears down on the top of the rail flange, comprises an L-section insulator 11 having a first leg interposed between the rail flange and the securing means and substanti- -ally covered by a rigid layer of metal 12 and a second leg interposed between the edge of the rail flange and the anchoring member, projections 13 being provided to prevent longitudinal movement of the insulator with respect to the anchoring device. The insulating and metal portions may be secured together by adhesive, projections and depressions 14 or projections 15 and vertical channels 16. Alternatively the insulator 11 may have end flanges embracing the metal member 12.
