Abstract

1,126,697. Fastening rails to sleepers. LOCKSPIKE Ltd. 24 Aug., 1967 [7 Nov., 19661, No. 49855/66. Heading E1G. In an insulated rail fastening wherein a clip 7-8-9 of metal rod shaped as in Specification 861,473 or 1,059,190 engages a rail flange 12 through an electrically insulating pad 15, e.g. of nylon, the pad 15 has a recess 16 which is oval in plan view and has its major axis inclined to the rail length. The clip 7-8-9 is driven into an apertured iron member 11 keyed to a concrete sleeper 14. A second insulating member 20 separating the members 11, 12 is retained in a dovetail groove in the member 11. The rail flange seats on a rubber pad 13.
