Abstract

416,610. Door stops and wedges. RAM, F. R., 75, Queen's Court, Queen's Road, Bayswater, London. Aug. 29, 1933, No. 23965. [Classes 44 and 65 (i).] A portable door stop or wedge has a conical or pyramidal surface to be engaged by the lower edge of the door, the base of the stop being adapted to grip the floor. The stop may be made entirely of rubber, solid or hollow, or may be of wood or metal with a base of rubber or other substance to give a good grip on the floor. In the form shown, the stop comprises a hollow truncated conical member 1 of metal or synthetic resin with a corresponding member 6 of rubber having a knob 7 sprung through an aperture in the member 1 ; the rubber projects below the base of the other portion, and may have a concave base. In a modification, the inner member and knob may be of metal and the outer member 1 of rubber, in which case the skirt of the outer member would project below the base of the inner member. The conical surface preferably does not extend to the floor, but merges into a cylindrical part, as shown. The base of the stop may be serrated, and the upper surface may be fluted.
