Abstract

488,135. Fastenings. BUTTS, W. J. June 29, 1937, No. 18044. Convention date, July 7, 1936. [Class 44] A device for holding a door open comprises a strip 10 of spring metal with two feet 15 of rubber or like material corrugated to engage the floor, the metal strip 10 being bowed to engage under the door edge with. one foot at each side of the door. The feet are corrugated and curved in section, and shaped to allow of use with doors having considerably differing ground clearances, and in the form shown are held in sheet metal sockets 12 riveted or otherwise secured to the strip 10 and formed with finger grips 13. In a modification, the feet are secured to the strip 10 by wooden or other cores undercut and embedded in the rubber. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a modification in which smaller rubber feet are dovetailed in short wooden legs which are fixed to the strip 10 and extended to provide finger grips. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
