2 Claim.

This invention relates to sun stalls, and has for the primary object the provision of a device of this character which provides a portable and collapsible wind break for shielding a person while taking a sun bath and may be constructed for either shielding a person while in a reclining po sition or provide a comfortable seat for a person in a sitting position and which may be readily set up for use and adjusted in position in accordance with the direction in which the wind may blow from and when folded will be compact and convenient to handle and store.

With these and other objects in view, this invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description 20 and accompanying drawings; in which Figure 1 is a perspective view illustratinga sun stall constructed in accordance with my invention. a

Referring in detail to the drawings, the numeral I indicates a stall designed for shielding a person or acting as a wind break and provides a comfortable seat for a person while in a sitting position. The stall 1 includes side walls 2 and 50 an end wall 3. The end wall is secured to one of the side walls by hinges 4 and to the other side wall by hinges 5. The hinges 4 and 5 permit folding of the device as shown in Figure 2, that is, the end wall 3 may be swung to contact one of 55 the side walls while the other side wall may be folded upon the end wall.

strengthened by a' strip 7 forming a rest for a seat 8. The strips 1 are notched, as shown at 9, and the ends of the seat 8 have cleats ill to engage the strips 1 when said seat 8 rests in the notches 9. Brackets H are secured to the rear edge of the seat to removably receive extensions l2 on a back rest l3. The upper end of the back rest carries an extension M to fit in a notch I5 formed in the upper rail of the end wall 3. The latter-named wall is similarly constructed to the side walls, that is, composed of a frame. The frames of the walls have a suitable covering applied thereto.

Brackets I6 are provided for attaching the device to the floor. The brackets it are secured to the floor by fasteners and carry thumb screws adapted to be turned in engagement with the upper edges of the lower rails of the frames 6. This form of securing means may be substituted by employing on the side members eye bolts I! in which are slidably mounted spikes I5. The spikes may be positioned in the ground and thereby effectively retain the shield in an operative position.

Referring to my modified form of invention when desiring to construct the device to shield a person in the reclining position the side walls are of a greater length and each includes sections l8 connected by hinges IS. The end wall also is constructed of sections 20 connected by hinges 2| The walls being of sections as described permits the device to be folded into a compact article, as shown in Figure 9. In this form of my invention the seat is omitted.

Employing the device to shield a person either while sitting or reclining, it is preferable that the end wall be disposed in the direction from which the wind is blowing and the person then may have full benefit of sun rays without being subjected to breeze or wind.

A sunshade It may be removably mounted to the upper edges of the side walls of the device and capable of adjustment along said side walls for the purpose of protecting the bathers eyes from direct sunlight.

Having described the invention, I claim:

1. A sun stall comprising opposed side walls and an end wall, hinges connecting said walls, a seat member removably secured to the side walls,

and a back rest removably secured to the seat member and to the upper edge of the end wall.

2. A sun stall comprising opposed side walls and an end wall each including a pair of sections, hinges connecting the side and end walls, hinges connecting the sections of said walls, and anchoring means for said walls.
