Abstract

434,374. Two-stroke-cycle engines ; pumps. McCLELLAND, W., 86, Cavendish Drive, Rock Ferry, Cheshire. May 11, 1934, No. 14223. [Class 7 (ii)] Two or more power cylinders and two or more pump cylinders are mounted on the crankcase. A pump cylinder is diametrally opposite each power cylinder and the two cylinders contain pistons of substantially equal mass always at equal distances from the crank-shaft axis. The pump pistons are connected to crank-pins arranged at 180‹ with respect to those to which the power pistons are connected. Each pump space is alternately in communication with the crank chamber and with the combustion space of a neighbouring cylinder by way of a passage 24 and a port 22 in the piston skirt of the power piston.
