Two-stroke-cycle engines.-An engine having a pair of cylinders in line, one on each side of a central crank-shaft, has its pistons connected together by a rod E, motion being transmitted to the crank-shaft by a connecting-rod G. The piston D compresses a pump charge in one end of its cylinder, and the piston C compresses in the crank case. The capacity of the pump spaces is equalized by the addition to the space R of a chamber R'. Specification 21,999/06 is referred to.
