424,818. Systems for supplying vacuum &c. apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Sept. 12, 1934, No. 26203. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1933. Addition to 389,025. [Class 38 (iv)] In an electric lighting installation comprising a plurality of gas-filled incandescent cathode discharge tubes fed by series-connected transformers as described in the parent Specification discharge tubes 6 comprising three arms having each an incandescent electrode 5 at one end and merging into a common junction at the other have the electrodes 5 of each tube connected through impedances 4 to the star or delta connected secondary windings 3 of a corresponding three-phase transformer. The primary windings 1 of the transformers are connected in series and leakage transformers may be used so that the impedances 4 can be dispensed with. Series impedances on the supply circuit may also be used and special anodes may be provided in which case the incandescent electrodes operate only as cathodes.
